Meet the friendly staff at Oasis Veterinary Hospital!
Dr. Nathalie Petersen grew up in Atlanta, Georgia and spent her summers in rural Michigan, where she developed a love for animals and nature. Her mother, a human physician, encouraged her to choose a career in which she would find joy in her work. It only made sense that Nathalie pursue her dreams of becoming a veterinarian. She graduated from Michigan State University in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Biology and Zoology. She received her veterinary degree from Louisiana State University in 2011.
She has always loved the West Coast and moved to California with her long-term boyfriend and their terrier mix, Maverick, in 2013. Since then, they have adopted 2 more terriers, Biff and Ziggy Stringcheese.
Nathalie appreciates the variety that being a general practitioner brings. She enjoys forming lasting relationships with both the clients and their pets throughout every life stage. She is an active member of the Contra Costa Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her boyfriend, hiking, drinking craft beer, running, going to yoga, and traveling.
